Volunteer

Give your time to the bees in your city. You choose the work. Volunteering is free.

How your time helps

Choose the kinds of help you like. The form lists the same five.

  1. Community events

Help at local events, such as markets and garden days. Tell neighbors how a community hive starts.

  2. Pollinator planting

Plant and care for flowers that feed native bees and other pollinators.

  3. School and group talks

Help children and adults learn how bees pollinate the food we eat.

  4. Photos and stories

Record local plantings and events with photos and short notes.

  5. Finding hive hosts

Suggest gardens, schools, and businesses that could host a community hive. Staff review each host.

Why a city needs volunteers

A community hive starts with a city campaign. Each campaign starts in the Gathering Interest stage. In that stage, people follow the campaign, volunteer, and propose a host. We collect no payment in that stage.

Then staff review the host, the beekeeper, the purpose, and the goal. Your form tells staff where people want to help and what they want to do.
